Common questions
Is this an official Revenue app?
No. Claim It is independent and not connected to Revenue. It never asks for your myAccount login and never files anything for you. You make each claim yourself on Revenue's website; the guides in the app show the steps.
How are the estimates worked out?
From Revenue's published rules for the Rent Tax Credit, health expenses relief, Remote Working Relief, flat rate expenses and other employment expenses. They are estimates: the real amount depends on the tax you paid and on Revenue's checks.
Why is my working-from-home figure so small?
Revenue's relief is 30% of the share of your bills that matches the days you worked from home, worked out at your tax rate, minus anything your employer paid you. For most people that is tens of euro a year.
Why does a receipt show as not counting?
Open it in the Receipts tab: the app says why. Common reasons are routine dental work, medicine nobody prescribed, or a refund from your insurer.
The camera button is missing.
The camera is only offered on an iPhone with a working camera, and only after you allow it in Settings. You can always choose a photo, choose a file, or type a receipt in.
Where is my data?
Only on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes it. See the privacy policy.
Which years can I claim?
Revenue allows claims for the last four years. A claim for a year must be made by 31 December four years later.
